# Model Selection

## List Available Models

Returns a standard OpenAI-format model list with pricing info. Also viewable in the [Model Marketplace](/dashboard/models).

Search models (`model_type: search`), e.g. `doubao-web-search` and `doubao-global-search`, are billed per call via `POST /v1/search` (body `Type`). See [Web Search](/docs/web-search).

Doubao Agent models (`model_type: agent`), e.g. `doubao-agent`, use `POST /v1/agent/chat/completions` and accept a required `bot_id` plus optional `agent_variant`. Billing follows the actual Lite/Pro, image-search, deep-thinking, or education chain.

## Routing Methods

Specify the model via the `model` field. Two routing methods are supported:

| Method | Example | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Auto-routing | `"model": "deepseek-v3.2"` | System selects the highest-priority channel |
| Specify channel | `"model": "volcengine/deepseek-v3.2"` | Use `channel/model-id` to target a specific provider |

## Channel Selection Tips

When the same model is available from multiple channels (e.g., multiple providers offer deepseek-chat), use the channel-specific format for deterministic pricing and latency.

Auto-routing selects the highest-priority channel. If that channel is unavailable, it does not automatically fall back to another channel.
